There are currently 12,000 clients registered at the facility.

2009 user statistics

There were:

• 276,178 visits to the site by 5,447 unique individuals
• An average of 702 visits daily, up to a maximum of 1,171 visits daily
• An average of 491 injections daily
• 484 overdose interventions with no fatalities
• 2,492 clinical treatment interventions
• 6,242 referrals to other social and health services, the vast majority of them were for detox and addiction treatment
• 411 admissions to OnSite detox

In 2009 alone, Insite counsellors made more than 6,000 referrals to other social and health service agencies, the vast majority of which were for detox and addiction treatment. The calendar year 2009 also saw 411 admissions from Insite into Onsite, the adjoining detox treatment facility which recorded a program completion rate of 55 per cent in 2009.

BudgetInSite budget figures for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2009:

• InSite's operational budget was $2,946,610 in 2008-2009.
• More than 80% of Vancouver Coastal Health's total expenditures on addictions are used for treatment and prevention.
